 Prompt: Write about a meaningful object or place in your life that carries a story.

Prompt Response: A meaningful object in my life is my pair of silver jeweled starfish earrings. They are meaningful to me because they were given to me by my grandmother, and were originally in my uncle's possession before he died. I value these earrings because of the family connection to them, and they also are very pretty. The starfish dangle off a hook, and have various jewels on the front side, making them colorful and stand out. I now take good care of these earrings to ensure I never lose or break them because they are special to me. 

Summary: Today in class we read a Navajo creation Myth about the origin of the Navajo people.

Reflection: Today I learned the origin of the Navajo people, which made me realize a lot of origin myths share similar biblical allusions. I can use this knowledge when reading origin myths in the future to help provide context to what I am reading.

  Prompt: Write about a moment when you had to step out of your comfort zone. Prompt Response:  A moment where I had to step out of my comfort zone was when driving from Georgia to South Carolina in June. At the time, I had only had my license for a few weeks, so driving across state lines was big for me. The reason I had to do this was because I was picking up a car for my brother from my Aunt's house, but he did not have his license yet, so I had to drive the car instead. My dad drove us to my Aunts house, where we stopped and said hi for a bit, and then they gave me the keys and we hit the road. My Dad had us take back roads instead of the highway since I was still a new driver, so the ride was two and a half hours. Prompt Response:  If someone were to look through my trashcan today, they would find a goodwill receipt, sewing thread, and scrap paper with schoolwork on it. The goodwill receipt reveals that I like to go thrifting and buy clothes a lot, and it also shows that I prefer secondhand clothes over fast fashion. The sewing thread reveals that I'm crafty and independent, and that I like to sew up holes from my thrifted clothes or sew mini plushies. The scrap paper reveals that I prioritize my education and tend to do a lot of hard math and chemistry equations for homework. All these items show that I am unique, crafty, and smart.
